What does it feel like from the perspective of a bungee jumper? View videos on the experiences of these brave souls at five of the world’s most exciting bungee jumping sites to whet your appetite for adventure.
1. Macau Tower, China
At a height of 233m, this is the world’s tallest commercial bungee jump. There are no rivers, cliffs or bridges close by. In fact, it’s an urban view. There is a parking lot at the base though, and of course, the beautiful Macau skyline. Just imagine you’re Spider-Man web-swinging from building to building, and you’ll get the picture. It’s not cheap though, at HK$3, 088 (RM1, 515), but if you’re a thrillseeker willing to invest in it, you’ll probably find it a memorable experience that will last a lifetime. Plus, you’ll have something to brag about to your grandchildren later in life.

2. Verzasca Dam, Switzerland
The famous James Bond 007 bungee jump in Goldeneye, was at 220m off the Verzasca Dam in Ticino, the Italian part of Southern Switzerland. And just like ex-Bond Pierce Brosnan in the movie, you too can experience what it’s like to be a film stuntman and throw yourself off one of the largest dams in the world that contains 105mil cubic metres of water and fall 200m towards the river for a breathtaking adrenaline rush. Prices from US$279 (RM1, 620).

3. Kawarau Bridge, New Zealand
At 43m, it’s not as high as many of the other bungee jump sites, so it might be a good place for a first timer, while still providing the adrenaline rush. It’s priced at A$195 (RM551).
Check out these bungee jump videos to gate a firsthand taste of what the jump is like. Both videos feature tandem jumps, the first one by a couple who literally “took the plunge” a day before their wedding day, and the second, a valentine’s day jump.
4. Magwa Falls, South Africa
Built by Mike Wilson and Andrew Kirkpatrick, this 183m rope swing bungee jump at Magwa Falls, South Africa, is said to be the “biggest, scariest and craziest rope swing bungee jump in the world”. It plunges straight down into the gorge, with four terrifying seconds of free-fall. Price unavailable.
